Disabilities In The Workplace
Disabilities and Customer Service
Approximately 27% of the Canadian population lives with a disability, they represent a huge consumer base. Despite legislation like the AODA Employment Standard, their customer service needs often go unaddressed due to lack of knowledge or discomfort or consideration of how the distribution of goods and services could be handled more accessibly.
Diversity at Work offers training to help organizations provided more equitable, accessible and inclusive customer service to people with disabilities. Our training combines both the AODA Employment Standard legislation as well as disability etiquette and sensitivity.
Create A More Inclusive Workplace For People With Disabilities
An inclusive workplace not only complies with legal standards but also promotes a culture of respect and acceptance. To achieve this, organizations should implement diversity training that emphasizes the importance of inclusion and accessibility. Ensuring that all workplace policies reflect a commitment to inclusivity will further enhance the work environment for everyone.
Mental Illness In The Workplace
Mental illness is often overlooked in discussions about workplace disabilities, yet it can significantly impact productivity and employee well-being. Cultivating a supportive culture where employees feel comfortable discussing their mental health issues can reduce stigma and encourage those in need to seek assistance. That’s why we created our interactive workshop on “Mental Health Inclusion” where we address workplace stigma, accommodations, supporting co-workers, discuss Stress management, warning signs of distress and inclusive language
